Getting Out of Our Own Way

The moment we ask, "What's wrong with a little...?" we've already started looking for a shortcut instead of a solution. We start trying to implement the same thinking that left us in poor state.

Excuses rarely announce themselves as excuses—they disguise themselves as harmless compromises, convenient exceptions, and reasonable justifications.

But lasting transformation doesn't come from modifying the process to fit our comfort. It comes from allowing the process to change us.

Every shortcut that avoids discipline delays freedom. Every excuse keeps us attached to the habits we're trying to escape.

If we truly want a different life, we have to stop arguing for the path that led us to where we no longer want to be. Get out of your own way. Trust the process. Do the work. The life you're seeking is on the other side of the excuses.
